I discovered these books while on a trip recently and I’m loving them. This is the fourth in the series from author C.A. Belmond…I would say they are romantic/suspense novels surrounded by a mystery. I enjoyed them very much.

Classic Penguin books…

I love this new collection of books about food from Penguin, pure classics..

I’m thrilled they are making a film from this amazing

YA novel, in 3-D no less! Here is a summary from the

author’s website.

ORPHAN, CLOCK KEEPER, AND THIEF, twelve-year-old Hugo lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station, where his survival depends on secrets and anonymity. But when his world suddenly interlocks with an eccentric girl and the owner of a small toy booth in the train station, Hugo’s undercover life, and his most precious secret, are put in jeopardy. A cryptic drawing, a treasured notebook, a stolen key, a mechanical man, and a hidden message all come together…in The Invention of Hugo Cabret

The latest Flavia de Luce novel, ‘I am Half-Sick of Shadows’ is out.  I loved the first three novels about this post-war British Nancy Drew like sleuth.

A creepy but enthralling novel by Ben H. Winters..

This book was just reviewed in the LA Times,http://articles.latimes.com/2011/oct/31/entertainment/la-et-book-20111031 and I could not agree more with the review. I ordered it shortly before our store closed, so I was never able to sell it on the shelf. Since then I’ve been reading it at night, and let me tell you, you don’t want to read a book about Bedbugs as you are lying in bed!! However, it is amazing and I can’t wait to read more from this author….
